Don’s practice is focused on the resolution of tax controversies with the Internal Revenue Service and in the courts. In addition, he advises clients on personal income tax matters and serves as a counselor to high-net-worth individuals on their tax and family issues. He advises families with significant wealth on multigenerational gift and estate matters, family business planning matters, and intra-family dispute resolution issues. Don also advises on conservation easements as well as the valuation for federal tax purposes of various assets, including closely held businesses, family limited partnerships, water rights, fine art, and undivided interests in various types of assets.
